What does it mean to earn your E-Notary Certification?

Individuals who are already North Carolina notaries will be taught the legislated procedure required to exercise electronic notarial acts. The certification program covers the North Carolina E-Notary Act, eligibility and registration, E-Notary processes, technology solutions and providers, E-notarizations ethics, consequences of misconduct and security standards.

Participants must be a current Notary Public and will need to provide a government-issued photo ID and North Carolina Notary Public commission number. Attending students must be 19 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent and have never been convicted of a felony.

Skills learned

Upon completion of this E-Notary certification program, students will be certified to notarize documents in electronic form. Both the notary and customer will be able to sign electronic documents.


This program takes place on Greensboro College’s campus.

This program costs $90 which also includes the E-Notary booklet.
